A Safe Return - Phase One
Following closely the Government and IDTA guidelines we are now ready to re-start. Phase one of our return will be the reinstatement of private lessons at Shutlanger Village Hall from 25 July onwards.
We would ask you to complete the registration form on this website so that we are up to date with current data for government Test and Trace guidelines.
To remain safe, healthy and socially distant we will have the following measures in place (please note these may be subject to change):
Entry/exit to building
As you arrive please sit to change shoes in the areas indicated (there will be two areas: one at the bottom of the hall near the door and the other at the top of the hall near the table). This is to make sure that people arriving do not sit in the same area as the belongings of those who are already in their lesson.
Confirmation of your personal details will take place at the start of the lesson to ensure compliance with “test and trace” government directive.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, have experienced coronavirus symptoms or have been in contact with someone who exhibits symptoms you must not attend your lesson.
If you exhibit symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 after you have attended your lesson you must inform us - for further info please visit
The door to the inner hall will be left open (until the weather cools) to avoid touching of the internal door and to aid ventilation.
Please use the sanitising gel which will be available on arrival and on departure.
When you are in the changeover period between lessons we ask you to keep socially distanced from the other dancers
Use of common areas and restrooms
Use of the restrooms is strongly discouraged unless absolutely necessary. However, paper towels are provided if needed to avoid use of hand towels.
If you do need to use the facilities, we ask that you spray and wipe down the areas touched including the toilet seat, and door handle after use. Products and blue roll will be provided for this. Please dispose of the blue roll in the bin provided.
The studio will be cleaned thoroughly before the start of lessons.
In the lesson crossover period all door handles and seating areas used will be cleaned with COVID-secure approved cleaning products and blue roll.
Social distancing during lessons
There will be no student-teacher physical contact during lessons and a 2 metre distance should be maintained at all times.
Partnering/contact dancing is permitted when members of the same household or support bubble attend together.
There will be a maximum of 5 people in the studio to begin with (two couples and a teacher)
Since 2 m distance can be maintained in our hall, face coverings and other PPE are not required by law. However, if you would prefer your teacher to wear a face covering please request this before attending your lesson and we will be happy to oblige.
There will be no access to communal water – please bring your own where needed.
All personal property (which should be kept to a minimum) should be kept on the allocated chairs on arrival, and these will be sanitised at the end of your lesson.
Please note that you should arrive in your dance attire as use of toilets for changing is to be avoided.
Payment should be made online prior to your lesson.
Payment method will now either be through BACS or the online booking/payment system. If using BACS please ensure you use your surname as a reference. Account number 12091480. Sort code: 07 01 16.
On the day payments can be made via contactless/chip and pin card reader.
Any cancellations now require 24 hours’ notice as a minimum.
